My Chemical Romance Discuss Touring Economics
My Chemical Romance recently toured Australia and did an interview to discuss the tour as well as how economics in touring have changed over the band’s career. Check out the full interview here and a snippet of it below by clicking “Read More.”
new zealand actually! haha <3
sometimes interviewing someone you really respect/admire can pretty much ruin them for you. there have definitely been some bands I 100% can’t even listen to their music anymore ‘cuz they were such awful human beings in reality. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE BANDS. can’t even begin to explain how much we appreciate all they’ve done for us the last couple of months <3
Here’s a preview of the tour diary that My Chemical Romance have put together from their latest Big Day Out adventures exclusively for Coup De Main :) look out for all 30 photos in the next issue of our digital magazine OUT THIS FRIDAY, FEB 24TH!

I am SO excited for february 24th because that means you will all get to see/read CDM Issue #3 [a.k.a. the next issue of our digital magazine] - it’s THE best thing we have ever done. It’s our ‘Music Issue’ so I’m sorta biased… but pretty much since last November I have been busy hunting down interviews so that there’s something for everyyyyone in there. Dum Dum Girls, Best Coast, My Chemical Romance, You Me At Six, Angels & Airwaves, Mariachi El Bronx, The Wanted, Sleigh Bells. There’s at least 10 more international interviews I hope to have for this issue too :) in the meantime here’s a polaroid preview from January interviews so far x
This interview is probably my most favourite thing I have written all year so far <3 I say so far, ‘cuz I am pretty excited for upcoming Gerard Way chat.

P.S. Speaking of favourites :) my FAVOURITE shoot of this year was the very first time I met Florence Welch. It was MAGICAL.

and this would be why you’re in a really successful band and all that.
“I’m somebody that loves to marry art to commerce, I think they should actually exist together. And that doesn’t mean money, but art and distribution, they should be allied. And if you can do that and retain your personal integrity, then it’s fine. As an artist, if you want to keep hold of the real stuff, you have to figure out how to duck and dive all the other things. The truth is, it’s easy to stay away from parties. You need to have to actually try to end up there. The really hard part is remembering how to be brutal with your music - and with zero apology, or zero cred-chasing.” - GERARD WAY
